we love BOBO CHOSES
This summer the Spanish label BOBO CHOSES takes us back to a summer of our own childhood full of icecream, cookies, cherries and candies. Their cute cuts, imaginative illustrations and soft colours make them one of our absolute favourites.

Bonjour Camille
On Sunday mornings, as soon as the sun comes out, Camille opens her eyes and puts on her battledress: a tutu and a top hat.
She has so many things to do:
Jumping on the bed until her mummy says THAT’S ENOUGH!
Eating loads and loads of cherries.
Hiding all the umbrellas.
Choosing a new favourite colour.
Giving names to the waves.
Asking the wind in a whispering voice to tell her a story.
Letting an ice-cream melt in her hand.
Drawing thousands of faces on thousands of balloons.
Yelling to the winter to go away.
Looking for something unexpected on a map...
But then Camille hears a voice from the other side of the door.
Stop that jumping!
SHE HAS SO MANY THINGS TO DO!

we love BANGBANG COPENHAGEN
Louise Lundholm and Mia Risager are the 2 creative designers behind BANGBANG Copenhagen. “We love to make clothes with an aesthetic look that will make you smile at the same time.” In theit collections the 2 women make an effort to create details that stimulate the child’s imagination. BANGBANG’s collections are for cool kids. The designs are inspired by the neatness of Japanese origami twisted with the coolness of street wear, which makes it unique and functional.

BE INSPIRED
MATRIOSCHKA nennt man in Russland eine runde bunt bemalte Holzpuppe, die mehrere kleinere Puppen in sich beeinhaltet. Das Spielzeug war für Kinder gedacht und sollte vereinfacht die Vorstellung von Fruchtbarkeit, Mutterschaft und Familie vermitteln.
Die Wahl des Namens ist nicht zufällig. Damals war Matronja (liebevoll Matrjoscha, Matrjoschechka) ein in Russland sehr beliebter und gebräuchlicher Frauenname. Außerdem steckt in der Wurzel des Namens lateinisches Wort "mater" (Mutter), was zur Idee der Puppe sehr gut passt.
Die ersten Matroschkas wurden in Moskau produziert und waren ziemlich teuer. Doch nach der Pariser Weltausstellung in 1900 lag die ganze Welt dem Bauernmädchen zu Füßen. Die Produktion wurde in die alte Klosterstadt Sergiew Posad nahe der Moskau verlegt. Schon wenige Jahre später schnitzte oder bemalte praktisch jeder Bewohner von Sergiew Posad Matroschkas. Die Nachfrage war riesig, und so spezialisierten sich auch weitere Städte rund um Moskau auf die Herstellung von Holzpuppen: Semenow, Polkhow-Maidan, Tver, Vjatka und andere.
Auch heute noch sind die meisten Matroschkas handgemacht. Wichtig ist vor allem die Auswahl des Holzes. Am besten eignet sich Linden- oder Birkenholz. Als erstes wird die kleinste Puppe geschnitzt, die manchmal winziger als ein Fingernagel ist. Die nächste Figur wird daran angepasst. Und so geht die Arbeit weiter, bis nach und nach ein kompletter Satz entsteht. Danach kommt die Holzpuppe zu einem Maler, der ihr ein Charakter und ein schickes Outfit verpasst.
Wir finden die unbemalte Version viel spannender. Einfach roh und unbemalt als Designobjekt oder selbst Hand anlegen ist gefragt.
